MSUFCU Requests Variances for Two
Branches in Meridian

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Michigan State Federal Credit Union requested variances before Meridian Township's Zoning Board of Appeals this week.
.
The MSUFCU branch at 2300 Jolly Road required permission to install seven wall signs and two freestanding signs, instead of the allowed two wall signs and one freestanding sign.

The 1775 Central Park Drive MSUFCU branch needs a variance to construct parking spaces where a 15-foot buffer is required.

Greg McKenzie of Daniels and Zermack Architects, LLC, the architects that are behind the MSUFCU design, made a statement for the need for extra signs at the Jolly Oak Road MSUFCU.

He stated that "Meridian Crossing, even though it's a private road for public use, not considered a public road, so, we're not permitted a sign on there. But, that would be the only signage for a fairly heavily traveled road coming south from there."

Both variances were approved by the Zoning Board of Appeals with exceptions.
