Okemos Kaleigh King Signs with Jackson
College

OKEMOS - Okemos third baseman, Kaleigh King, recently signed with Jackson College.

Jackson head coach, Jeff Hankins, along with Okemos coaches, staff, family and friends joined King in celebrating her momentous decision.

Hankins spoke highly of his newest addition and boasted of all her recommendations.

"I've got six emails from high school coaches in her league talking about her, saying congratulations again," Hankins said.

"Like coach said, like her athletic director said, they thought she was the hardest working player in their league as well."

The coach-player relationship was already on display as the two sat next to each other during the event. Hankins drew King to Jackson College by sharing common goals.

"I loved how he wanted to help me with getting my ultimate goal, and my ultimate goal is to play for Ohio State or a Division I school," King said.

"He was definitely there for me and said 'I would help you with the workouts. I'm going to push you hard.'

"I like to be pushed hard, and that's one thing I know he is going to do."
