Local Events Bring Culture and Food to 
Residents This Weekend

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township residents have some options for how to spend their weekend with a variety of activities going on in and around the Township this weekend.

The Greater Lansing Chinese Association will host its annual Chinese New Year celebration on Saturday, February 21st.

The event takes place from 1:30-6:30pm at the Meridian Mall, and will feature a Lion and Dragon Parade, Fashion Show, music, dancing and carnival games. Event organizers said that last year was well attended, and they expect this year to be even better.

"This collaboration is bringing together resources that will make for a fanatic and incredible program to celebrate the Chinese Culture 2015, so we are inviting everyone in the community to attend," stated Julie Jiang, President of the Greater Lansing Chinese Association.

Residents with a sweet tooth have an opportunity to sample chocolates from several retailers at the annual Michigan State University Museum Chocolate Party on Sunday, February 22nd from 1:30-3:30pm at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center. This year's theme is "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb." Attendees will also have the opportunity to view several exhibits by the MSU Museum. General Admission tickets are $30.

The Meridian Township Winter Farmer's Market will also be held on Saturday, February 21st from 10:00am-2:00pm.
