MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Teri Banas served 10 years with the Meridian Township Park Commission and now has a new position, leaving a vacancy on the Park Commission.

Banas was elected as County Commissioner for the 11th District in the November 2014 election and steps are being made to find a replacement for the remainder of her term on the Park Commission, which would end in November 2016.

Director of Parks and Recreation LuAnn Maisner said Banas was a strong advocate to this community and will be greatly missed. Maisner believes that Banas will bring her passion to her new position and do great things.

The Park Commission have conducted interviews to find a replacement and the Township Board will make the final appointment at their meeting on Tuesday, January 20th.
