MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - It may be hard to believe that we are already in the month of October, and while Halloween is not the regarded as one of the safest holidays, it can be fun for children and their families. Here are some ways for you to take the trick out of the treat.

Greg Frenger, Lieutenant for the Meridian Township Police Department shared a few tips with us stating, "Go through your childrens candy and if anything is opened or appears suspicous, just throw it away."

Frenger also said that most of the problems during this time of year are people out causing mischief and not paying attention when on the roads.

Meridian Township will be celebrating halloween with a few open houses at the Harris Nature Center, HOMTV studios, the Police Department, and all three fire stations on saturday October 25th beginning at 10 a.m.
