MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The final adoption of the Snow Emergency Parking Ordinance took place on June 17 during the Meridian Township Board Meeting.

Leonard Provencher voiced his concerns at the podium about communication to the public regarding the ordinance.

"I think the forms of communication to the public about the snow emergency parking ordinance are insufficient," said Provencher. "There should be some visual way to communicate which vehicles are not in compliance with that snow emergency."

Provencher believes visual communication to the public is important, and cadets should be able to approach a car and notify the owner if their vehicle is not in compliance with the ordinance.

The ordinance will allow removal of parked or stalled vehicles from roads within the township if they are effecting snow removal efforts or causing traffic congestion during periods of heavy snow or ice.
