Meridian Township Board Receives
Petition To Pave Local Road

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - A Meridian Township road may see a repair in its near future.

The Meridian Township Board recently received a petition to grade, gravel and pave the section of Perry Road that runs 600 feet from Lake Drive North to the county line.

Bath Township has already done their part in paving their section of Perry Road, but Meridian's section of the road remains untouched and unpaved.

"In the past there hasn't been a big push to get this paved. Now one reason I think it's because of the three lots that were vacant. Now there are two homes and a third being built. The owner of those three lots signed the petition so that was a big step to getting the whole thing done," said Raymond Severy the Director of Public Works and Engineering.

Starting at 6 p.m Tuesday, July 15th, there will be a public hearing for those who may object the petition and for those who favor the proposed project as well.

The Township Board is set to proceed with the project unless more than 20 percent of the property owners file written objections with the Township Board at or before the meeting.
