Flu Season

Flu Season

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Recent fluctuating temperatures warn Michiganders that the winters are fast approaching, which means flu season is here. No one wants to get sick especially for MSU students during exam week. Katie Paul, a Human Biology junior at MSU, is taking 6 classes and they are all her major-related classes which mean she has to do well. She is studying continuously and getting ready for her exams that are on every week. As a result, students such as Katie cannot afford to get sick because of their busy schedule. Luckily, they can avoid the set back of getting sick by getting a heard start on the flu season. Christine Hendrickson, a heath educator at the Ingham County Health Department, says "Flu shots are the best way to protect yourself from getting seasonal flu." According to her, with a flu shot, people's rick of getting sick will be reduced and will be guaranteed to stay healthy during this year's flu season. The best time to get flu shots is anytime but sooner than later. Experts say washing hands is one of the best ways to stop germs from spreading but the best option for flu prevention is getting flu shots. Now, flu shots are available at Ingham County Health Department and other pharmacies such as CVS, RiteAid, and Walgreens.
