Bus Riders Speak Up at the CATA BRT
Meetings

OKEMOS - Residents of Meridian Township voiced their opinions about the future of the bus rapid transit along Grand River Avenue as the Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) held stakeholder group meetings in the Township on April 16th.

Throughout the meetings residents, where able to speak with CATA representatives and look at different maps and images related to the proposed bus rapid transit system (BRT). Some of the areas that were illustrated included changes to the 28 bus station locations, on-street parking, left turn lanes, and bicycle facilities.

CATA Executive Director Debbie Alexander emphasized that the purpose of the maps and the illustrations are to give residents a opportunity to put their finger prints on the BRT design and determine how they would do it differently than CATA has done it.
