MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Board approved the order to repair several Meridian Township sidewalks for 2014 at their meeting on April 1st.

The order is part of the Township's sidewalk maintenance program which has been in place since 1999.

The property owner is given the option of repairing the sidewalks themselves or having the Township repair the sidewalk and bill the cost of construction to the property owner.

Some of the Subdivisions included in the year's program include Hiawatha Lakes, Hidden Valley, The Shoals, Spring Lake, The Sundance Estates, and the Trails at Lake Lansing.

Once notified, residents will have twenty days to make safe or repair the defective sidewalks.

The cost of the sidewalk repair can vary anywhere from 100 dollars to 800 dollars.
