Environmental Commission Asked for Input on Fire Station

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At their March 10th meeting, the Planning Commission heard from members of the public regarding the proposed fire station on Central Park Drive.

The Planning Commission decided that they would like to hear input from the Environmental Commission about the site plans before conducting the Section 61 Review at their March 24th meeting.

"Section 61 has to do with the revision, location and extent of the fire station because they've done some reduction in size, eliminated the tower and moved things on the site," said Meridian Township Principal Planner, Gail Oranchak.

The Special Use Permit for the building will be an action item on the Township Board's April 1st meeting agenda.
