Door to Door Power Outage Help

Door to Door Power Outage Help

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Township Officials and members of the Meridian Township Fire and Police departments are going door to door checking on Township residents without power. As of Monday morning, five streets remained without electricity.

Township Board Trustees Milton L. Scales and Angela Wilson as well as Township Supervisor Elizabeth Ann LeGoff are with the police & fire departments handing out information on where residents can find warming centers, hotel rooms, assistance with pets, as well as customer walk-in centers for Lansing Board of Water and Light.

Residents are urged not to call 911 to inquire about power restore estimates. The 911 center does not have that information, for power restore information please contact your power company. Residents can call the Consumers Energy call center at 1-800-477-5050 or Lansing Board of Water and Light at 877-295-5001 for any electrical storm related emergencies or concerns.

For all water or sewer emergencies in Meridian Township, residents should call the Meridian Township’s Public Works and Engineering Department’s on-call number, 517-349-0010 BEFORE calling a plumber or drain cleaner. If residents leave their homes due to power outages, it is recommended to leave water running (one on each floor) at a strong trickle to avoid freezing pipes.
