MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the December 4th Environmental Commission meeting, members discussed all their accomplishments they made in 2013, approved the 2014 meeting schedule, and discussed their goals for 2014.

One of the goals the board mentioned was wanting more public to come out to their meetings, as well as decreasing the noise pollution from passing trains, and bringing in a urban wildlife specialist to talk about ways to help animals, and get rid of animals that are pests to residents.

Commissioner,Jeralyn Moran, said "Better managing for raccoons, opossums, that are generally considered pests, but if we as a commission can provide proper information, so that we can arm homeowners that have those concerns."

The next Environmental Commission meeting will be Jan. 15, 2014
