Okemos Falls to Grand Ledge in Their
Annual

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Okemos Volleyball Team participated in their annual Volley For A Cure event on Thursday, as they took on Grand Ledge High School in a divisional matchup.

The Chieftains began the match by winning the first set, and it didn't take long after that before they were up two sets to one. But Grand Ledge stormed back, taking the final two frames, winning the match outright.

After the game, Okemos Head Coach Jamie Ianni said that she still saw the event as a success, despite the losing effort.

"Oh my gosh, such a successful event," she said. "It was great to see all of the pink, it was great for the kids to experience this, and we'll do it again."

The Chieftains earned their first divisional loss in the game and still sit atop the CAAC Blue Division.
