Stay Protected from Sunburn this
Summer

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The risk for Melanoma- a form of skin cancer- doubles if an individual has had 5 or more sunburns. This summer if you are going outside make sure to stay protected from the harsh rays of the sun. Avoid sun exposure if possible. The use of sunscreen is recommended, SPF 30 or greater. Apply at least half an hour before going outside, and make sure to reapply every two hours. Take special care to protect young children by keeping newborns out of the sun and using sunscreen on babies 6 months and older.
