OKEMOS - The Douglas J Salon and Spa has had to put their expansion project on hold. The salon is proposing a minor amendment to their mix-use planning and elopement project that could add 2,000 square feet of useable space on the roof as a patio and also in the basement.

Mark Kieselbach,Director of Community Planning and Development, explained what this means for the site plan, "Its the design they are trying to finalize is what is causing this. its not really, it doesn't change the foot print of the building were it is. so its still going to be in the same place that the public saw, the board saw threw the mix used development approval. so its really more interior type".

A hearing for this proposal has a tentative date of July 2nd and will be held in the Meridian Township building, in the meeting room. The decision of this amendment will be made by the Director of Community Planning and Development.
