Fire Department Collecting Toys for Tots

Fire Department Collecting Toys for
Tots

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - For more than five years the Meridian Township Fire Department along with the Marines have been collecting toys for children around Michigan.

Toys for Tots is a well known charity, especially around the holiday season. All the of the toys donated go to needy children in local communities and 97 percent of the monetary donations go to the cause as well. The other 3 percent is spent on supplies and necessities for the charity.

The Marines Toys for Tots Foundation collects unwrapped toys for children all ages. As a Meridian Township resident you can get involved in the cause by dropping off a donation to your local fire department.

Bill Priese,Chief of Training and EMS Operations in Meridian Township, said, "The fire department likes to support the kids and help out if we can. The fire station is a community resource and so it is good place for people to come drop off a toy. If the guys at the station are in the house they'd be more than happy to show the kids around and show them the truck. It's a good way to spread holiday cheer."
