MDOT Improvements coming to M-43

MDOT Improvements coming to M-43

UPDATE: LANSING - As part of the M-43 improvement project, drivers can expect to see orange barrels along Grand River Ave. between Coolidge and Park Lake Road starting sometime in either March or April.

The project includes resurfacing of the road, along with improvements to traffic lights and intersections. Those improvements and upgrades come in at a cost of around $7.5 million.

"We do understand that that corridor borders Michigan State University, so part of our decision there is looking at timeline as well," said Kari Arend, a spokesperson for MDOT. "So timeline is going to be key with this along with trying to maintain as much access as possible, and we will always maintain at least one lane in each direction of the corridor."

The entire project is expected to be completed by this time next fall.

You can follow the project's progress on MDOT's website at www.michigan.gov/capitalinvestment or on Twitter @MDOT_Lansing.
