LANSING, MICHIGAN - The National Alliance on Mental Illness is hosting a Tri-County response to the mental health crisis. With events on March 9th and 10th, volunteer Teresa Ritsema, a volunteer with the organization, says that NAMI Lansing primarily wants to educate people about these virtual events and the over 260-280 police officers that NAMI aided in crisis intervention skills taught across the Tri-County area.

On March 9, from 3:00-4:30, there will be a brief screening of Ernie and Joe Crisis Cops, an HBO documentary. Following this film, there will be a panel of local experts on crisis intervention and outreach to the community.

On Wednesday, March 10, from 3:00-4:30, the film will not be shown again, but for the people who have registered to attend this event, it will still be available to view until March 12. 7:30-8:30, there will be a community discussion monitored by Margaret Keeler, a NAMI member. The community discussion will also include several other notable community members.
