Meridian Township Board Meets the Township's Newest Firefighter

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township’s newest firefighter, Angela Kohls, was welcomed into the force by the Township Board at their December 8th meeting.

Kohls, a Jackson, Michigan native, was sponsored into Lansing Community College’s Fire Academy last August.

“Just an extraordinary woman that’s going to do a great job for us,” said Meridian Township Fire Chief, Mike Hamel. “She’s a wealth of energy and a breath of fresh air and it’s just a lot of fun having her.”

The new firefighter graduated from the academy with honors at the top of her class.

“I’m very excited to work for Meridian,” said Kohls. “I want to thank you for bringing me in to be part of the team.”

The Board offered welcome wishes to Kohls after she introduced herself.

“We look forward to having your work performed for us,” said Supervisor Ron Styka. “We know you’re going to be good, not only good but great.”
