Township Trustee Receives Recognition

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On Tuesday, September 24th, the Lansing Regional Chamber held its 13th annual "10 Over the Next Ten" awards. Meridian Township Trustee Dan Opsommer was one of the ten people selected for the award.

This award recognizes the Lansing Region's top young professionals who are expected to contribute significantly to our community in the next ten years. The winners were judged based on their professional achievement, community involvement and personal success.

Trustee Opsommer has been a member of the Meridian Township Board of Trustees since 2016 and has helped get voter approval for a millage to fund police and fire pensions by 2027 and a road improvement millage and project for 147 miles of road in Meridian Township in 2019. He also spearheaded efforts to expand the Okemos Downtown Development Authority.

Township Manager Frank L. Walsh also shared Trustee Opsommer's leadership and his devotion towards helping residents of Meridian Township.
