This presentation will provide practical information for anyone interested in "going solar." Topics will include recent solar panel installations in the greater Lansing area, names of installers working locally at competitive prices, and the 30% federal tax credit. Information will be relevant to both single-family homes and larger buildings such as churches, with ample time for questions. This event is organized and co-sponsored by The Islamic Center of East Lansing, Haslett Community Church, Michigan Interfaith Power and Light, Solarize Meridian, and University Lutheran Church. The event is free, and all are welcome. Refreshments provided.

The Lansing Symphony Orchestra's chamber performances were established in 1987 under the artistic direction of I-Fu Wang and grew into the Renaud Chamber Music Society. Under the guidance of Music Director Timothy Muffitt and Artistic Director Richard Sherman, the series is now known as the Lansing Symphony Chamber Series. The series is designed to showcase the artistry of Lansing Symphony musicians in an intimate setting and to introduce audiences to talented artists and innovative programs. This is a church fundraiser with 10% of the profits going to St. Vincent Catholic Charities. Delicious home-made meat and vegetarian combos with Mid-East sweets will be served. The meat combo is chicken scharwma on rice, kibbee, stuffed grape leaves, hummus and salad. The vegetarian is mujaddara, hummus and salad. Church tours will also be provided upon request. Forster Woods Adult Day Center hosting 4th Annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction On Friday, May 18th aboard the Michigan Princess Riverboat, Forster Woods Adult Day Center is pleased to announce that they will be hosting their 4th Annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction. Please join us for an evening of wonderful food, jazz music provided by Lansing Eastern High School’s Jazz band, and a cruise along the river. Since 2012, Forster Woods has provided needed support not only for those living with dementia and other disabilities but also for those caring for their loved ones.

Meridian Twp Firefighters Union & local Boy Scouts
All you can eat pancakes for $5 donation! The Meridian Township Firefighters Union and local Cub and Boy Scout Troops are teaming up to serve you an all you can eat Pancake Breakfast event! Pancakes and sausage are cooked by the Meridian Township Firefighters. Juice and coffee are served by local Scout Troops. Hop inside a Meridian Township firetruck and an EMS vehicle, and race a pinewood derby car! All proceeds will go to the MDA and our local Scout Units' Campership/Scholarship Fund. This event is sponsored by the Meridian Professional Firefighters Union 1600, local Boy Scout Troops, United Dairy Industry of Michigan - Milk Means More, Michigan Pork Producers Association, Eby Dental Care and Guys & Dolls Salon & Spa.
