Community Connection: Portugal Protege

HASLETT\ - Haslett Native Brandon Dixon is a young student athlete chasing his dreams. Those dreams are of him being a soccer player.

According to his Mother, Dominica Palacio, ever since Brandon was little “He always had a ball in his hand, always moving his feet.”

Brandon is a freshman at Haslett High School this year and plays soccer. His goals for his high school career is to improve on all of his skills.

Brandon received an invite, through a connection from his coach, to travel overseas to play in Spain and Portugal in this prestigious soccer camp. Brandon and his family have been in the Haslett community since 2009.

Brandon, age 14, got into soccer through the support of his Mom. But what makes the story intriguing is that Brandon is the youngest of triplets, who play soccer as well.

Brandon loves to share his accomplishments with his siblings and support them as well. In his free time, Brandon, likes to hangout with his friends and enjoy family time with his siblings.

Brandon will be playing Haslett Boy’s soccer this year as a freshman. You can find out more about his overseas accomplishments in this month’s Community Connection.
