Seventh Warning Siren Installed in Meridian Township

Seventh Warning Siren Installed in Meridian Township

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The seventh outdoor siren has been installed in Meridian Township.

The newest addition to the emergency siren system was installed at Wonch Park on April 16, 2018.

One of the many Meridian Township Goals in 2018 was to add more emergency sirens.

"Weather can change quickly and we think that if the warning sirens can alert the changing weather conditions appropriately, it would be better for the safety of our residents," said former Fie Chief Fred Cowper.

Sirens are used in an emergency situation and have been added in other specific locations to cover the Township.

Warning sirens are also located at Harris Nature Center, Academic Way, The Lodges and at three Township buildings.
