2018 Township Goals Approved by Board

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Board has approved their 2018 goals.

One of the top goals on the list includes redeveloping the core commercial areas such as Downtown Okemos and Haslett.

Township Manager Frank Walsh said this area really needs attention.

"That's our number one goal," Walsh said.

Other notable goals include developing a comprehensive plan to fix the roads, lowering the homeowners' firefighter insurance rate and a solar project.

Now that the goals have been approved, Walsh said it is time to start implementing them.

"My team, our management team, will work with our entire team at the Township to see that they get accomplished," Walsh said.

Walsh said once completed, these goals will make a difference for our residents and others.

"All those things really impact our residents and more of a global outlook combined."
