Ingham County Holds Public Meeting on Road Work

INGHAM COUNTY - Beginning in the Spring of 2018 be ready to expect road closures, detours and construction. Jolly and Okemos Roads will be replacing an old storm drain, getting new traffic signals, turning lanes and walk signal enhancements. Jolly from Dobie to Meridian Road will also be adding paved shoulders.

Ingham County Road Department (ICRD) held a public informative meeting for residents to come in and ask questions on the upcoming projects.

William Conklin Managing Director for the ICRD talks about what the improvements will do, "Help expedite the movement of traffic with right turns, right turns help more folks get up to the signal, each cycle of the signal and allows right turns to flow around when concurrent left turns are occurring as well."

Meetings like these are important for not only residents but the ICRD to answer any community members questions or give out important information. Conklin says to check their website rc.ingham.org for any project updates.

"Drive carefully and slowly through the projects, we hope to be in and out of there as quickly as we can," says Conklin. The projects are expected to be finished by Labor Day of 2018.
