MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The rain and humidity did not stop participants of all ages from coming together Friday evening for the kick-off of events during the Celebrate Meridian weekend. The Race began on Central Park Drive near the Meridian Township Municipal Building.

Deciding whether to run, walk, or jog was up to the participant. Some even chose to bring along a four-legged friend to join in on the fun. The path designated for the race took participants through Central and Nancy Moore Park.

At the conclusion of the race, an awards ceremony took place. Trophies were awarded to the first three participants that crossed the finish line. All other third, second and first place winners in each age category were awarded with a medal and an applause from other participants.
