EAST LANSING - Mid-Michigan's first Costco location is here to come. Construction is underway on the 156,170-square-foot Costco Wholesale Warehouse at 5800 Park Lake Road.

Utility and road work has begun for the Costco's water and sewer. Park Lake Rd. is currently closed from Haslett Rd. to Saginaw Highway. Merritt Rd. is also closed.

According to Derek Perry, Meridian Township's Assistant Township Manager/Director of Public Works & Engineering, those roads will be closed periodically throughout the project.

The project will include an attached tire center, a freestanding gasoline and diesel fueling facility and three out lots for future development. The new store is scheduled to open on Black Friday this year, November 24, 2017.

According to Tim Dempsey, East Lansing Planning, Building & Development Director, the site could be possibly open as soon as October.
