eCities Award

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township has been recognized for developing a positive entrepreneurial climate.

With this, the Township has earned the eCities Award. This project researches local governments and how they are supporting economic development in their area.

The study for this award is done though the University of Michigan-Dearborn's Center for Innovation Research.

Meridian Township earned the title of a Five-Star Community which means the township has commercial constructions worth over $875 million. This also means there have been more than $29 billion combined real and personal properties. Ten percent of the population is also self-employed.

At this point more than 200 communities have taken part in this study.
