Greater Lansing Potters' Guild Host Fall
Pottery Sale

EAST LANSING - The Greater Lansing Potters' Guild recently hosted their Fall Pottery Sale. All 35 members have spent the past several months making ceramic pieces in hopes they will be purchased at the sale. Many of the Potter's have hundreds of pieces to sell by the time the fall sale comes around.

The Potter's Guild host two sales a year, one in the spring and the other in the fall. Both sales are hosted at All Saints Episcopal Church in East Lansing. The fall or spring sale is one of the only times residents are able to see this handmade ceramic work because the Potters' Guild Studio is not open to the public. President of the Greater Lansing Potters Guild Bill Guerin says with the amount of time it takes to prepare for a sale the maximum the club can host is two per year. "So, you know, you make a pot, umm you let it dry, you trim it, you fire it, and then you glaze it, then you fire it again. So, from start to finish it's huh, it's quite a long process," Guerin explained.

Bringing peoples some joy through his pieces is what Guerin says is the most rewarding part of making ceramics.
Their next sale will take place a week before Mother's Day.
