Resolution Passes For Funding To Improve
Bridges

INGHAM COUNTY - The Ingham County Park Commission met Monday June 27th at Lake Lansing Park South. The Commission approved a resolution for funding to make improvements to bridges across Ingham County including in Meridian Township.

Under the millage for Parks and Trails 22 bridge applications were received by the county from Mason, Lansing, East Lansing and Meridian Township. 21 of those bridges will receive funding for repairs.

A total of around $4.5 million will be spent on the bridge repairs. Almost $600,00 of that money will be spent to repair bridges in Meridian Township. Seven bridges in Meridian Township were approved to receive funding.

Teri Banas, an Ingham County Commissioner who is part of the Ingham County Parks Commission said, "I think it's gonna make the trails more usable and hopefully will encourage more people to use the trails."

The Ingham County Board of Commissioners will look into this resolution further at a Board of Commissioners meeting in July.
