Haslett Community Meeting Held

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Community Planning and Development Department of Meridian Township hosted a Haslett Community Meeting at New Hope Church on Thursday, June 23.

The meeting focused on engaging Haslett community stakeholders and informing attendees on what projects are going on in the area.

This was the first Haslett Community meeting held in the last few years.
Attendees included active neighborhood citizens and some Meridian Township members. The meeting lasted about an hour and many different topics were discussed.

Community groups such as, the Haslett Beautification Association and The Kiwanis Club, gave updates on the projects they are currently working on. In addition, the Township Manager shared some messages and status updates about projects that have been ongoing.

The parks department and different economic development projects were also discussed.

Peter Menser, Associate Planner for Meridian Township said, “It’s really an opportunity to share a positive message about things that have been happening in Haslett and just to continue building the community here, which actually worked. We’re at the end of the meeting here, and everyone is still here socializing so I think it was a success.”

The meeting allowed for citizens to ask questions and get answers on topics they are interested in.

If you are an active member in the neighborhood and want to be involved in the next meeting, contact the Meridian Township Planning Department at 517-853-4560.
