HOMTV Celebrates Intern Appreciation
Night and Golden Tape Awards

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - 43 interns came through the HOMTV’s Internship Program in 2015. Of those 43, nearly half are working in the industry today or are heading to new jobs soon. It is impressive to see the talent come through the program each semester.

In order to showcase their talent, the annual Golden Tape Awards competition was designed to recognize the achievements and hard work the interns put in during their time at HOMTV. This is the 11th year of the Golden Tape Awards competition, each year interns submit their best work in various categories and a panel of industry professionals judge each entry and give constructive feedback. This year, we had 15 people submit a total of 51 entries.

HOMTV held their annual Intern Appreciation Event on Monday, December 7th at the University Club of Michigan State University to celebrate all the hard work the interns have put in this year. The interns have worked more than 10,000 hours and created approximately 1,000 stories/promos to air on the channel this year.

2016 marks the 35th Anniversary of the HOMTV Internship Program. The first intern, Ben Stark, started back in 1981.
