Gun Shots Fired in Haslett

UPDATE: HASLETT - Upon further investigation, Meridian Township Police have detained two suspects, who were arraigned on Saturday for both larceny and auto theft. Bail is set at $100,000 for each suspect.



Meridian Township police have released on Facebook that the suspect has been identified and there is no current danger to the public.

Meridian Township police is still searching for the suspect, who is allegedly driving a stolen vehicle.

Haslett Public Schools lifted their lockdown as of 9:30am.


ORIGINAL STORY: HASLETT - The Haslett community was shaken up this morning by a shot fired on the corner of Haslett and Cornell roads.

Meridian Township Police are on the hunt for a suspected suspect who is around 5'8"-5'10", wearing dark clothing, and most notably a fedora.

Haslett Public Schools near the area of the shooting are currently on lockdown. The lockdown is expected to clear once police determine the shooter has moved to a different location.

An off duty police officer is in pursuit of a man in a grey/silver Honda. He matches the description of the suspect. More police have been sent on the way to assist.
