Michigan Supreme Court Denies Autumn
Park Condominium Appeal Against Meridian
Township Fire Station

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On May 28th, the Michigan Supreme Court released an order saying the highest court will not review the appeal from Autumn Park Condominium residents against Meridian Township regarding the building of the new fire station.

"We are pleased with the decision by the Michigan Supreme Court and we will continue to do what we do best, protecting and saving lives," sated Meridian Township Manager Frank Walsh.

The appeal was filed on October 14, 2014 in response to the resident's two previous lawsuits that were dismissed by the Ingham County Circuit Court and the Michigan Court of Appeals.

According to Meridian Township Finance Director, the Township has spent more than $35,000 in legal fees for the building of the new fire station.

While awaiting the decision by the Michigan Supreme Court, Meridian Township held a groundbreaking ceremony in April 2015 and construction of the new fire station is underway. The new station is expected to be up and operational by December 2015.
