MSU Safe Place Gets Ready For Annual
Race For The Place 5K

EAST LANSING - Michigan State University's Safe Place hosts their annual fundraiser Race for the Place 5K every April. This year marks the fundraiser's 21st anniversary.

CARE and MSU Safe Place Advocacy Coordinator Erica Schmittdiel said this years registration is looking pretty good.

Race for the Place 5K will have many events and even host races for children. The family-friendly event will take place on Sunday, April 12th at Jenison Field House beginning at 1pm.

Whether you are walking or running, come in first or last place; MSU Safe Place is grateful every participant is helping them support the fight against relationship violence and stalking.

"I love to see all the people come out and support Safe Place. You know domestic violence will not end until we as a community step up to stop it; and so to see so many people coming forward and saying they care about this issue and that they support a program that helps survivors of domestic violence is just really great and it really warms my heart to be part of the race every year," said Schmittdiel.

Even with the race just days away, it's not too late to register. Registration can be done online or in person.
