Okemos Pedestrian Bridge Right On Schedule

Okemos Pedestrian Bridge Right On
Schedule

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The new pedestrian bridge is right on track with construction. The last of the concrete has been poured until it's time for the bridge to arrive.

The steel bridge is still being built in New York and will be shipped to Meridian Township in four pieces.
The new bridge is scheduled to arrive in late March or Early April. Until then, construction on the site will pause until it's arrival.

Although Michigan has seen a few snow storms, Meridian Township Director of Public Works & Engineering, Raymond Severy said the weather has had no impact on the construction of the bridge.

Construction on the bridge began back in January. The bridge should be open for use in spring sometime in April.
