MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) recently
announced 2011 Government Programming Awards Finalists. Meridian Township is one of three Michigan municipalities recognized for efforts in programming excellence this year. The Township's communication
department, including HOMTV and CAMTV, was acknowledged for work in the following categories:
Excellence in Government Access Programming
“HOMTV” (Honorable Mention)
"To be recognized for excellence in programming by NATOA is one of the highest honors a municipal station can receive. Meridian Township's Communication Department prides itself on providing 'real world'
experience for college students who produce and create many programs for Township residents. Recognition by NATOA for programming excellence reflects that training. In 2010 HOMTV concentrated efforts to redesign the marketing and promotion opportunities offered to college students. Being named finalists in those categories showcases that effort and we are honored by the recognition," said Deborah Guthrie, Meridian Township’s
Interim Communications Director.
Winners will be announced at the
NATOA Annual Conference in San Francisco, CA on September 23.
